Israeli tourists go mad on cultural tourism and gambling

The 14th International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM) took place in Tel Aviv, Israel on the 5th and the 6th of February, 2008.

More than 260 tourist agencies from over 30 countries, operated on the Mediterranean region and the Near East have represented their tourist products. Bulgaria was represented by the State Tourism Agencies at a hexagonal informational stand with a size of 35 sq.m.        
The Bulgarian spot has attracted the attention not only of the sea lovers, but has roused the interest of the ski sport’s admirers. The cultural tourism, the advantageous SPA procedures and the gambling are the main conditions, which induce the Israeli tourists to prefer Bulgaria for a place to spend their holiday. Israelis’ basic requirements are the luxurious hotels and the organization of tours around the country.

Neighbouring the Bulgarian stand was situated the stand of Turkey. As always they tried to point out their hospitality. Meanwhile the Greece’s set impressed with a luxury.

The vision of Bulgaria looks most attractive to the Israeli tourists, comparing to the other East European countries, explained acquainted. In the opening day of the international fair, Israeli newspapers published in their issues that Bulgaria and Romania are the new destinations of the Israeli tourists.   

The Bulgarian tour operators, which already have experience with tourists from Israel, explained that these clients never stay only at the place, where their holiday is set for. They like to take part in organized tours around the country. The history and the archeology are their big passion. They start indulging in shopping lately, as the prices in Bulgaria are very advantageous.

The Israeli tourists are very interested in the Bulgaria’s ski resorts. In Bansko already started to operate some casinos, which are very big passion of the Israelis.





The warm and friendly feelings between out two countries, due to historical reasons mainly, will from now on develop into stable relations in the tourism, concluded representatives of the tourist sector.
