Design for mobile living

Article by Furnish.BG
Considering that our society is becoming more and more mobile as a result of a fluctuating job market one must ask what the necessities are for people on the move and how their furniture should be designed. Flexibility and mobility have become key concepts of today’s working world and yet we continue to create our own barriers to our success and mobility. A change from our accustomed style of life to a more mobile one will mean overcoming our desire to accumulate goods and possessions. At first glance the mew mobility may seem restrictive and over economical yet the future generation will take the new style of life for granted and appreciate even more the increase in mobility, freedom and flexibility. Moving house is always a strain, a burden of time and expense. Even with several helpers the timing and planning, the transport and reassembly of the furniture is a strong man act.
What's Casulo?
CASULO is a complete set of room furniture which can be set up in less than ten minutes and later disassembled and repacked like a standard Euro pallet of 80 cm by 120 cm. No tools are needed in the process.
A packed CASULO can be transported and stored at nominal expense by any carrier and shipping agent. Not only can a disassembled CASULO unit be packed with one’s personal items. The CASULO itself is sturdy and thus no additional packaging materials are necessary when it is ready for transport. The CASULO can then either be sent to a prearranged address or delivered directly to one’s flat. Two people can lift, carry, and assemble each piece of furniture within the CASULO. The unit is constructed of durable, long-lasting materials. A CASULO offers a solution for today’s style of life - “Here today – must move tomorrow.”
The CASULO is for people on the move, those in job training, students, and people who have to change their location frequently. The unit is ideal for people in the service industries. People who must move frequently and rent empty rooms need no longer accumulate sets of inexpensive furnishings whose transportation costs are higher than the value of the furniture.
